As I glanced at myself and greeted my reflection, the concerned questions popped up – “How do I look? Why am I bloated? Under Eye-creams not helping? Oh! Concealers not filling in the worry lines?
I paused! The date isn’t going well. My getup and make-up didn’t help. I am being scanned, judged, criticized perhaps? My last iota of enthusiasm and smile faded and before I could call off the date with my honest friend, I reflected on its verdict on my physical self, which is but a vivid reflection of my mental and emotional well-being. Introspection needed: exactly being mentally aware!
“Am I thinking clearly? Feeling okay, and Acting normally?” These questions serve as a simple yet powerful self-assessment to gauge our mental well-being. Often, we overlook the importance of monitoring our emotional health, focusing more on physical appearances. This week, let’s embark on a journey of self-awareness, shining a light on the areas we might unintentionally neglect.
Imagine it as a special “date with the mirror.” As we look at our reflection to assess our physical appearance, today, I encourage you to delve deeper. Take a moment to examine yourself not only in the mirror but also in your thoughts and emotions.
Physically, observe your reflection. Do you see a smile that radiates genuine happiness? Or do you notice signs of stress, fatigue, or tension? Your face can reveal a lot about your emotional state.
